Our Story

Lexi & Matteo (siblings) grew up in a lively home filled with siblings, noise, and imagination. At the center of it all was a dark green modular sofa in an open living room. Designed in the 80s with blocky forms and removable cushions, it wasn’t precious—but it was everything. That sofa became a play space, a resting place, a fort, a stage. It held naps, laughter, and the kind of freedom only childhood allows.

Years later, those memories quietly stayed.

As Lexi and Rafa began raising their own family—and as Matteo and his wife, Nicole, welcomed a child of their own—those childhood conversations came back to life. Together, they found themselves talking about space, clutter, and what modern family life actually needed. About wanting fewer things that could do more. About creating homes that could hold real life, not just look good online.

When Lexi and her husband, Rafa, became parents, life expanded quickly—three children in just four years. With that growth came constant movement: changing homes, rotating clothes, toys, and furniture. Alongside Matteo and Nicole, they began questioning what was worth keeping, what could adapt, and what was simply good marketing.

They found themselves searching for a central piece that could hold real life. Something soft enough for play, supportive enough for rest, and flexible enough to evolve alongside growing families—thoughtfully designed for modern homes and modern families.

That shared vision became CUCU.

By bringing together childhood nostalgia, lived family experience, and intentional contemporary design, they created a modular play system made for everyday life. CUCU isn’t just a couch—it’s a space for imagination, connection, and rest, designed to grow with your family.

Because the pieces that matter most aren’t just furniture.  They’re where life unfolds.
